The summer break can often bring a sense of relief and rightly so – you are all ready for a well deserved break.

On the other side of the summer break, people often feel like they are back to square one with their health and fitness goals. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way, and you don’t even have to skip the Christmas dessert!

Our Bloom team provides their top tips for feeling good over the Christmas break, all while enjoying that much needed down time.

Jesse’s Top Tip:

Don’t skip eating the good stuff (not what you’d expect, we know). When we try to avoid “bad” food entirely, we usually end up breaking and eating in large quantities in an uncontrolled manner. If we simply enjoy a normal portion when we feel like it, we skip out on the guilt and the excessive consumption.

So – enjoy the Christmas pavlova and look to include some nutritious options in your next meal!

 

Will’s Top Tip:

Keep moving and enjoy the activities that you may not usually have time for. Is your kayak collecting dust, or perhaps you’ve been meaning to check out the new walking trails in Perth?

Make the most of your time off work and try to maintain some level of activity. It doesn’t need to be a 10/10 session but you will always feel better for doing some light activity in the outdoors.

 

Sarah’s Top Tip:

Take some time to pause and do what what fills your cup. Christmas can be an overwhelming time with social and family commitments. Be sure to take the time to find things that bring you joy and ‘fill your cup’ so you actually feel recharged and ready to tackle 2024.

Less pleasing family and friends, and more doing what is best for you!
