Exercise Physiology
Clinical Exercise Physiology – Exercise that’s designed for you.
At Bloom Allied Health, our Accredited Exercise Physiologists provide individualised, evidence-based exercise support for people living with health conditions, injuries, disability or other barriers to being active.
Whether your goal is to move with less pain, become stronger, manage a health condition, improve your functional capacity or simply feel more confident exercising, we’ll help you find an approach that works for you.
What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-qualified allied health professional who specialises in using exercise to prevent, manage and treat chronic health conditions, injuries and disability.
Rather than simply giving you a workout, we take the time to understand your health, your goals and the things that matter to you.
From there, we develop an exercise plan that is safe, achievable and tailored specifically to you.
Who do we work with?
Our team works with people across a wide range of ages, abilities and health conditions, including:
- Musculoskeletal injuries and persistent pain
- Neurological conditions
- Disability and neurodevelopmental differences
- Cardiovascular and metabolic conditions
- Diabetes
- Osteoporosis and osteoarthritis
- Cancer and cancer treatment
- Mental health conditions
- Balance, falls prevention and healthy ageing
- Pre- and post-operative rehabilitation
- Reduced strength, fitness or mobility
- People returning to exercise after illness or injury
What does an appointment look like?
Your first appointment
Your initial consultation is about getting to know you, not just your diagnosis.
We’ll talk about your health history, current activity, symptoms and goals. Where appropriate, your Exercise Physiologist may also assess things like strength, balance, mobility, cardiovascular fitness or functional capacity.
Together, we’ll decide what you’d like to work towards and develop a plan to get there.
Your ongoing sessions
Depending on your needs, your sessions might include:
- Individual exercise sessions with your Exercise Physiologist
- Strength and resistance training
- Cardiovascular exercise
- Balance and mobility training
- Functional and everyday movement
- Education and self-management strategies
- Home or independent gym programs
- Progress reviews and exercise program updates
As you become stronger and more confident, we’ll progress your program with you.
Our goal isn’t to make you dependent on appointments forever. We want to give you the skills, confidence and support to keep moving long term.

As someone with a diagnosis of early breast cancer and wanting a tailored exercise program, Bloom Allied Health has been brilliant for me.
Very knowledgeable and experienced in women’s health including breast cancer treatment and wellbeing and is able to communicate effectively and with empathy.
I have been meeting with Jesse regularly for over eight months now and I can’t recommend her highly enough – exercise is all the go for managing cancer well and Bloom has been a great go-to for me!
I would not hesitate to recommend Bloom Allied Health.
I am 60, have had major surgery and have never been a gym person, so I was quite a challenge.
I have been attending Bloom for 10 months now and Will and Jesse have helped me achieve a level of strength, mobility and fitness I would not have thought possible.
